Janus Academy
governance
The Janus Academy is led by a Board of Directors and the Head of School, each with distinct and complementary responsibilities that promote the school's mission and goals for the future.
The Board of Directors is a volunteer group whose typical membership includes parents and outside directors. The Board of Directors helps formulate policy, oversee the School’s financial affairs, and select, retain, and counsel the Head of School. Each year the Board sets and approves the budget as a financial expression of policy decisions. A summary of the annual financial statements can be found in the Annual Report, published every fall.
The full Board meets monthly during the school year; standing committees (which may also include non-board parents and community leaders) meet in frequent working sessions and additional meetings.
